This claim construction opinion construes the disputed terms in U.S. Patent Nos. 5,842,224 (“the ‘224 patent”) and 7,145,906 (“the ‘906 patent ”). Plaintiff Fenner Investments, Ltd. (“Plaintiff”) accuses Defendants Hewlett-Packar d Company and Dell, Inc. (“Defendants”) of infringing claim 3 of the ‘224 patent and claims 9, 10, 19, and 20 of the ‘906 patent. The parties submitted two disputed claim terms for construction (Doc. Nos. 69, 71, 73). A Markman hearing was held on October 8, 2009.
