In this case, Oyster Optics, LLC, alleges Infinera Corporation, Coriant (USA) Inc., Coriant North America, LLC, and Coriant Operations, Inc., (collectively, “Defendants”) infringe certain claims of U.S. Patent No. 6,665,500 (the “’500 Patent”). The abstract of the’500 Patent describes it as concerning a fiber optic telecommunications system and method that each create phase-modulated optical signals from a data stream in one mode and amplitude-modulated optical signals from a data stream in another mode.
